Scholarship Poster

Here's a poster assignment we were given for a text heavy scholarship poster. I wanted to make this one a typographic poster since I haven't experimented with one yet. I was going for a little bit of a retro, old school, video game/monopoly feel for this one.

The Poster Makeover.

For this poster project we had to find a poster that we thought needed a makeover. This one was a lot of fun. I limited myself to only 4 colors. I think it's my favorite so far.

(I put a border around it so you could see the edges of the white background.)

Wishing I was there.

I was obviously born in the wrong decade...

Woodtype!

I had the pleasure of making a little 6x10 poster for the letter W, which went with the word Woodtype. After stressing about drawing it I finally decided to go for the real deal and get some woodtype and letterpress it!

Here's the finished product.

I was initially inspired by this image I found online.

Mark Weaver

I found this artist while looking at posters on the interwebs. The Bang Bang poster was what caught my eye. I was then lured into his website, where he has many other great pieces.

You can view more of his work at Mark Weaver's Website.

Jonas Bergstrand

I recently stumbled across this artist while researching for my restaurant identity project. Jonas Bergstrand is an amazing illustrator/graphic designer from Sweden that's heavily influenced by modern 50's-60's design. I love his use of type and color.
